Scranton Enterprise Center - Business Financing

The Scranton Enterprise Center staff will work with prospective or existing entrepreneurs to match them with the business financing program that best suits their needs.

MetroAction, Inc. Small Business Financing Programs - The MetroAction, Inc. Small Business Financing Programs provide capital to develop or expand small businesses.

Retail, service, manufacturing and industrial based businesses are eligible. Projects must be located in Lackawanna, Luzerne, Wyoming, Wayne, Pike, Susquehanna, Carbon or Monroe Counties.

For the purpose of this program a "small business" is defined as a company with less than 50 employees and less than $500,000 in annual sales.

Minimum loan amount is $2,500. Maximum loan amount is $50,000. The interest rate is fixed for the term of the loan. Call for current rates:

SIDCo is a community oriented financial organization administered by the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce. SIDCo provides short-term working capital loans of up to $75,000 to local businesses that are unable to obtain financing through conventional means. SIDCo provides loan terms up to 60 months in length.

Scranton Enterprise Center Business Incubator staff will work directly with its tenants to identify sources of venture capital financing.

Entrepreneurs and small businesses in Scranton have a new place to turn for help when they need money to expand, renovate, invest in new technology or upgrade equipment. The Grow Scranton Fund, administered by Scranton’s Office of Economic and Community Development offers low interest loans with a simple application process. Formerly the Economic Development Council of Northeastern Pennsylvania, the NEPA Alliance has several business assistance services geared towards helping businesses expand into new markets and get the financial assistance they need to grow.
